Downriver Adoptable Pet Feature

Flat Rock Animal Shelter

By Blair Stamper, Macaroni Kid Downriver Publisher August 29, 2018

Three years ago, on our wedding night, our dog ran away.  We were getting married in Frankenmuth, which is about a two hour drive from Flat Rock.  We left our wedding at midnight and drove home, rather than staying at the hotel, as planned.  We stayed up all night looking for our dog.  The next afternoon, Flat Rock Animal Shelter called us letting us know that someone in our neighborhood had found her.  If it wasn't for the amazing volunteers at the animal shelter, working on a Sunday, we never would have been notified.  Because of this, I've decided to team up with Flat Rock Animal Shelter for an adoptable animal feature each week.

As you all know, we have three dogs and two cats.  So, it is safe to say we are animal people.  In fact, three of our animals are rescues.  Check out this adorable adoptable pet waiting for the perfect family!

Meet Josie

Age:  1 years old

A little about me:  Josie is a lab/pittie mix and is an amazing dog.  She is currently being trained with basic commands and will need a strong owner to help her continue her training.  She does currently have a food allergy.  Homes with older children would be the best fit.

How to adopt:  Call 734-790-5082 to set-up a meet and greet with one of the shelter's amazing adoptable pets.  Or email flatrockanimalshelter@gmail.com.  An adoption contract and fee are required for all adoptions.  During the month of August and September only, Canines are $50 and felines are $10.
