The 4th of July is very important because we celebrate American Independence Day! This day simply represents Declaration of Independence and the United States being born as an independent nation!
What else do I think about when it comes to 4th of July?
Outside of the original meaning of the 4th of July, I think about my mother. My passed away when I was only 19 years old and although a few holidays were her favorites, the 4th of July was at the top of the list! My mother was cook so she absolutely loved to BBQ. I remember just like it was yesterday. My mother would prep all of the meat and veggies the night before, get up super early to get the grill ready and get the food going! I would wake up to the smell of her homemade spices, sweet bbq sauces and the grill. I couldn't wait to get a plate and see all of our family since our home was the home all of the family visited on all of the holidays. After the day went on, we had music, games for all of the adults & children, lots of food, laughter, and of course.....FIREWORKS!!
Those times were important because through that, it taught me to focus on family. Every thing my mom did on the holidays represented family even if she had to work. She made sure family was always taken care of.
Now having my own family, that is my primary focus especially for the 4th of July and other holidays. Family is the team God has assigned specifically for you. So set aside some time away from work, any other thing that can wait and focus on YOUR family!
